Apartment Maintenance Pocket Guide
NAA's Education Institute contacted Think Tank Creative to develop a maintenance guide for their Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) program.
The maintenance guide was broken up into five tabbed-sections, each covering a different discipline. A table of contents was included at the beginning of each section, and a cumulative index of terms was included at the end of the guide.
With a large number of Spanish-speaking program participants, it became obvious that an English-only pocket guide would not be appropriate for the audience. Instead, the guide was developed with English on one side of the page and Spanish on the opposite. Additionally, the tabbed section dividers included large images to give readers visual cues as to which section of the book they were in.
Finally, because many maintenance workers would carry the guide with them, the covers were produced so that they would allow the book to stand up and the individual pages were produced on a water-resilient stock.
