The Pink Report®: Women and Walmart
With some of the largest beauty brands on their client roster, The Benchmarking Company, a beauty branding company in Washington, DC, needed to produce reports that would capture the attention of C-level executives. Enter Think Tank Creative. The Benchmarking Company challenged Think Tank Creative to give its annual Pink Report® a new, fresh look.
The Benchmarking Company's Pink Report is the industry's definitive beauty report with comprehensive research and consumer insights spanning over 65 pages. The 2010 Pink Report: Women & Walmart contains data on the shopping and purchasing habits gathered from more than 2,000 women ages 18-60+.
Breaking from past Pink Reports, the 2010 report was re-oriented from a landscape to a portrait orientation, which allowed from more photographs and call-outs. The divider sections of the report included images of women in each of the various age groups surveyed. Custom charts and graphs were designed to give the report a consistent look and feel. An appendix of survey results was also included in the report, and spanned nearly 20 pages. A teaser version of the report was also developed for posting on websites and for email distribution.
To save on imagery costs, Think Tank Creative identified royalty-free images from a subscription service so that all images could be purchased for one low price. Additionally, the report was designed to be an emailable PDF to reduce production costs for the client.
